2026 News Smorgasbord

July 9 - 31, Summer vacation in Montenegro!!! -- Immediately after landing in Podgorica, our vacationers drove to Bioča and, after the jet lag subsided, went to Dobre Vode to get acquainted with the new family house. They came back for a few more days with Vaska and Čerim, and then returned to Dobre Vode for a well deserved rest on the Adriatic's shore. At he end, they visited the magnificent historic Kotor, and spent the last two days of their vacation in Plav and Bioča. What a fantastic journey!!

June 23, Scarsdale, NY -- Denis graduated from the fifth grade! What an accomplishment! Congratulations, Denis! Congratulations to Felicia and Nedžad as well, for staying the course with love. dedication and resilience! Here are some images from the graduation ceremony. Enjoy!

June 20, Eastchester, NY -- The Eastchester Youth Soccer U11 2025/2026 Trophy Ceremony marked the end of the spring season. It was a great opportunity to reward the young players with hugs and applause. Congrats and ... make sure to fully recharge your batteries during the summer break!

May 11, 2026, Dobre Vode, Montenegro -- Felicia and Nedžad bought a house in Dobre Vode, Montenegro, in joint ownership with Vaska and Čerim! It is just anoher exhibit of family union and strength coming from the Bioča roots and the Scarsdale branch of the Klapija's. Here are a few images from Nedžad's inspection trip to their new property. Nedžad also went to Bioča for Vaska's (May 15) and Čerim's (May 12) birthdays. Happy Birthday Vaska! Happy Birthday Čerim! Congrats and good luck for many years to come with the new family house!

April 12, 2026, Happy Easter! -- In line with the tradition she established, Felicia hosted the Orthodox Easter dinner. The food was super delicious, and we had plenty of fun knocking eggs! Let's watch the video!. Happy Easter!

March 10, 2026, Scarsdale, NY -- Denis' 11th birthday celebration had to be postponed because both Felicia and Nedžad were sick, and so they had just a birthday cake at home without guests. Three weeks later Felicia honored the rain check with a nice dinner -- and Denis' friends joined him at the Bowling Lanes for a party with cake and candles and everything else. Here's the video. March 7, 2026, Scarsdale, NY -- This year celebration of Felicia's birthday was impacted by an unforeseen emergency -- a pipe broke out on an upper floor in their building and the water trickled down and caused a flood in Felicia's apartment. And so, the celebration was limited to lighting up and enjoying Felicia's birthday cake in my apartment. Happy Birthday Felicia!

January 7th, 2026, Scarsdale, NY -- Today, Denis was promoted to the Yellow Belt level! Congrats, Denis! Keep up the good work!

2025 Moments to Remember!

December 24, 2025, Merry Christmas! -- What could be better than a Blessed Christmas Eve surrounded by my beloved Denis, Felicia, Nedžad and ... Lourinha, who definitely became part of our family? The Christmas presents part of the evening was dominated by Denis' Dagestan sheepskin papakha, which we took turns to model for fun before heading to the spectacular Christmas Dinner prepared by Felicia! Merry Christmas!

December 6, 2025, Scarsdale, NY -- Denis got started in a Mixed Martial Arts program. Initially, he does judo, but other specialties (less gentle than judo) are already around the corner. Today, after the practice, Mommy cooked a delicious pizza, which Denis couldn't help sharing with Lourinha! I wish you could get a bite, too, but due to the cyberspace constraints my offer is limited to just a video. Enjoy!

November 27, 2025, Thanksgiving! -- This year's Thanksgiving celebrations in DenisLandia have been, as usual, under the auspices of Felicia. The sequence of events began at Felicia's with a birthday dinner and cake for Bunicul, followed by a fantastic Thanksgiving dinner on November 27. It was another Thanksgiving to remember! Great Mom, great Wife, great Daughter, and ... great Chef! Thank you, Felicia, thanks a million!

November 16, 2025, Scarsdale, NY -- Here's the Early November 2025 video. It documents the wedding of Lejla Lucevic with Nedžad's first removed cousin Samir Kajoshaj, as well as the last two soccer games of the Eastchester Soccer League season. Enjoy!

Halloween 2025 in Scarsdale, NY -- Plenty of weddings and fiercely contested soccer games have kept Denis, Felicia and Nedžad busy throughout the month of October. The cream on the cake was served on October 31st at Denis' school with a lively Halloween parade, followed by a Halloween classroom party and topped, of course, with a trick-or-treating session at Bunicu's! Wow!

October 13, 2025, Scarsdale, NY -- Happy Columbus Day from the shores where Columbus never set foot! The wokeness that has been poisoning America during the previous administrations quieted down and the Genovese explorer's statues were restored. Fortunately, Scarsdale is (still!) insulated from political madness and we're just enjoying another peaceful weekend. The weather is still good and the memories of the magnificent early fall in DenisLandia are still resonating. Enjoy!

August 23, 2025, Scarsdale, NY -- It's been one week since Felicia, Denis and Nedžad came back from their European summer vacation. They started with a short visit in Bioča, where they reunited with Nedžad's family, then a couple of days in Sarajevo, and, finally, one week in Antalya, Türkiye. Wow! I wish I were with them, but my old age doesn't allow me to travel anymore. Nevertheless, I hope you'll enjoy watching these video clips.

March 10, 2025, Scarsdale, NY -- March 10, which is Denis' birthday, is the top day of the year in our family. This year was no exception. Although a big birthday party with lots of guests was not on the agenda, we did follow the family tradition and celebrated Denis' birthday with a nice birthday cake. Happy Birthday, Denis!

March 7, 2025, Scarsdale, NY -- Felicia's birthday has always been a special day in my life, and today was no exception -- but with a heartwarming twist: earlier in the day, while I was shopping for flowers and the birthday cake, Felicia was enjoying a priceless moment with Lourinha during her adventurous trip to the living room! In the evening, Felicia hosted an intimate dinner, which Denis, Nedzad and I converted to a mini-birthday party. Happy Birthday Felicia!

January 11, 2025, New Rochelle, NY -- The new year started with a bang: the wedding of Amanda, Nedžad's cousin, with Amdi, in New Rochelle, NY. Wow! It was a great way to turn the page of the new year -- and Denis, Felicia and Nedžad had lots of fun! Congratulations to the newly weds and Happy New Year!
